While on holiday I am looking for references for my next paintings. There’s a lot to see and my mind is always thinking about composition and interesting shapes. I’m also getting feedback from family members abroad which is great. I’ve just learned of Capcut so I’ve realized I can use different video editing software than the Instagram one.

I’ve thought about making paintings expressing my heritage and culture from Malaysia and Singapore while also having some Canadian element mixed in as well since I live in Canada. I’ll try experimenting when I get back.

The above feature image I made for Chinese new year. I was stuck on the background and just made what was in the scene then. Not quite what I wanted in the end but at least the dragons looked nice.
